Wedding/Special Occasion

It’s your special day, and you want your dress and your attendants’ dresses to be special, as well.  We can pick the designs and fabric together and make everything uniquely yours. No “off the rack” copies!

The gown in this picture is an Alicyn design (McCall's) and was made using a flowing crepe for the underlay. The sleeves, overlay and veil are embroidered, scalloped edged chiffon. There are two layers of chiffon on the dress, the longer forming a chapel length train; the shortest layer is the veil.

Here we have a Jessica McClintock design (Simplicity). The bodice and underlay are a lovely Dupioni silk. The overlay is chiffon. The bodice has vertical rouging and a horizontal band detail at the top. The two skirt layers are gathered at the waist with an attached slip. The waist overlay is a rouged satin with ribbon accent.

This is the same Jessica McClintock design (Simplicity), with a few variations.  The bodice is rouged horizontally and is detailed with lace around the top and the same lace used at the bottom edge of the skirt.  The skirt has added slip layers and is worn with a separate petticoat for more fullness.  The fabrics used in this design were satin taffeta for the underlay.  Organza was used for the entire bodice and skirt overlay.

Tea length, high bodice dresses in cool cotton with two narrow shoulder straps bands.  The bodice is detailed with satin ribbon and a self ribbon bow. (McCall's)

These simple summer dresses made for beautiful flower girls on a very warm afternoon wedding outdoors.  The blue and purple floral design was complimented by a light purple gingham band at the bottom of the dress and for the sun hat.  The hat and the dress band are detailed with satin ribbon. (Simplicity)

Green gingham full skirts, crisp white pinafore and bodice.  The bodice is edged with piping made from the gingham and the pinafore is full and draping with added lace edge.  The wide sash is made with the gingham and ties in a large bow in the back. (Simplicity)

This Butterick pattern design was made with crepe back satin fabric in a lovely deep evergreen. The medieval dress back features a cord-laced eyelet placket and slight train. The low fitting belt is made from the dress fabric and covered with three rows of decorative braided trim.
